Orginally "Myer's Airport" of Phillipsburg... started way back in 1949 by John L. Myers. The first hangar was an old tobacco shed, it slowly grew over the years with the addition of instruction, maintenance, and more hangars. Pipers J-4s and Luscombes were the norm at that time.
Miller Flying Service owned by Gene and Jayne Miller took over operation of the airport and under their direction the airport thrived. They added hangar space to accomidate their growing customer base. The airport featured a busy maintenace shop, aircraft sales and a super busy flight school where pilots would come from near and far to recieve some of the best flight training in the area. As a public use airport it holds a commerial use certificate. The airport also boasts an FAA certified insturment approach that allows aircraft to land safety in bad weather and at night. This includes Careflight who land at the airport often to transport patients from Darke, Montgomery and Miami counties.
In late 2013 after Mr. Miller had a stroke and could no longer continue operations of the airport it was sold to Danny and Jaime Steel-Potter who continue to operate the airport. Danny and Jaime have a passion for aviation and also own Steel Aviation, Inc.
