Detailed Description

337 Skymaster Mirror System for Fire Detection "337-MSFD".

24 Sept 2004 Initial Release Ref: Dwg 337-MBA = Mirror Bracket assembly.
Ref: Installation Picture P46, Date: 24 Sept 04 Revision: Initial Release.

Description:
We use large, 4"x 5 1/2" convex mirrors mounted far enough lateral on the wing to insure that both sides of the entire fuselage including both engines are completely visible from the pilot seat.
For fire detection of both engines, this system is superior to simply observing one side of the engine cowling and Nacelles on a conventional twin engine airplane.

Reasoning:
On a twin engine airplane the pilot and passengers can only see the inner (medial) side of the engine cowlings.
On the 337 Skymaster with this convex mirror system the pilot and passengers can see both sides of both the front and rear engine cowlings.
