Remarks

N43XX currently operates as a private aircraft out of Riverside CA. This example was built as a C-53 "Sky trooper" in 1942 at the historic Douglas plant in Santa Monica. She served in the Mediterranean Theater during WWII and has been documented as participating in the airborne invasions of Sicily and Southern Italy operating out of North Africa. She also participated in the resupply of beleaguered US troop around Bastonge in December of 1944 (sustaining significant battle damaged during this operation that demanded an emergency landing in Europe - see attached "action report" for December 23rd 1944.)

Today she is configured as a corporate aircraft with 20 seats. The current owner operates her in accordance with 14 CFR Part 91. She is currently undergoing an extensive annual inspection work scope and will be airworthy again around the end of October 2021. She can be seen at various locations around the southern California area (including Catalina island) and as a regular attendee at various shows each year.

The current owner has and continues to invest significantly in maintenance and her development and she now boasts a pair of very low time Anderson R-1830-92 engines, new fabric on all flight controls and a fresh overhaul on the #1 engine carburetor. The interior has always been admired for its blend of high density airline seating with a high quality yet period corporate fit and finish, including a couches, a stand up bar and a spacious lavatory. A very comfortable and capable "Warbird" with well documented World War II history.

This example is being offered for sale by Aerometal International Inc., an aviation maintenance and management company with extensive experience in providing effective maintenance and full service operational solutions for the DC-3
