Continental IO-550-B Engine Information
Developed for use in light aircraft, the Continental IO-550 engine is a large family of fuel injected six-cylinder, horizontally opposed, air-cooled aircraft engines. The Continental IO-550 has a displacement of 552 cubic inches. The engine is used in several Beechcraft, Bellanca, Cessna, and Cirrus aircraft along with a few others. The Continental IO-550-B produces 300 hp at 2700 rpm. The dry weight is 421.61 lb. The engine was certified on October 13, 1983.
