    Piston Helicopter Enstrom 280C Shark

    Introduced in 1965, the Enstrom 280 is a small, light, piston engine helicopter. The 280 has the capacity for one crew member and two passengers. The helicopter is powered by a Lycoming HIO-360-F1AD engine. The cruise speed is 89 knots and the maximum speed is 97 knots. The 280 has an empty weight of 1570 lb and a maximum takeoff weight of 2600 lb.

    Variant models of the Enstrom 280 include the 280 Shark, 280C Shark, 280L Hawk, 280F, and 280FX. The 280C is an aerodynamically refined version of the Enstrom F28C-2 and is equipped with an upgraded engine fitted with a turbocharger.
