Beechwood Flying Field is located in Scott County Indiana 5 miles east of Scottsburg, Indiana, 30 miles north of Louisville, Kentucky and 80 miles south of Indianapolis, Indiana. Private Airport approval in September, 2020 for a turf runway.
Built in 1937 by Hudson and Katherine Biery of Cincinnati, Ohio, for their summer home. The house has been unoccupied since 1975. A new roof was put on in 2008 after considerable damage to the interior. 4 bedrooms, 2 full baths, living room, dining room, kitchen and a screened-in-porch. There is a one car attached garage. The walls are solid brick and are double with a dead air space between them. The brick walls are built from the concrete floor in the basement. The brick are reclaimed from the streets of Jeffersonville, Indiana after the flood of 1937. There is a cast iron trim and large portion of wrought iron fence across the front. The property contains 40 acres. Approximately 6 acres around the house are large growth trees and the remainder are new growth trees.
