    Aeronca 7 Champion AC Light Sport

    The Aeronca Model 7 Champion is a single engine, two seat, fixed conventional landing gear aircraft. Commonly known as the Champ the airplane entered into production in 1945. The fuselage and tail surfaces are constructed of welded metal tubing. The fuselage's outer shape is created by a combination of wooden formers and longerons covered with fabric. The cross section of the metal fuselage truss is triangular. The strut-braced wings are fabric covered utilizing aluminum ribs. Most aircraft were built with wooden spars.

    The Aeronca 7 Champion AC is powered by a Continental A-65-8 engine. The empty weight is 740 lbs and the gross weight is 1,220 lbs. The cruise speed is 74 kts, the stall speed is 33 kts, and the range is 270 miles.
