    Airframe

Airframe was restored in 2004 after being in a "project" state for several years. Covering, paint, and wood were replaced including new spars.

    Engines / Mods / Prop

Firewall forward is fresh overhaul (dec of 19), and very complete. New mags & harness, all new hoses, & mounts. Fuel system just overhauled with new stainless injection lines. New nickel bore cylinders, PID & balanced crankshaft. Runs excellent, and very smooth. All new fuel & oil lines.

    Interior / Exterior

Interior is in acceptable shape, its a bit dated but overall not bad. Floor carpet and headliner was replaced during restoration in 04. Has Hooker 4pt harnesses

    Remarks

Overall this is a nice solid plane without the full tilt restoration price tag. Some small spots of hangar rash. No major damage history, it was recovered, not rebuilt from a wreck. Full logs, and complete paperwork. Fresh annual (dec 2019). The previous owner had restored it and then had health issues, so it was hanagared and not flown much since the restoration. Its only had about 130 hours since the full recover and new wood.

American Champion 7-KCAB Citabria Aircraft Information

The American Champion Citabria line features single engine lightweight, two seat, fixed landing gear aircraft. The name comes from the ability of the plane to withstand aerobatic stresses. Citabria is airbatic spelled backward. The main uses are flight training and personal use though they can be used as glider tow planes.

The Citabria is based on the American Champion 7 Series Champ. The main body in the Citabria series is welded metal tubing with the outer fuselage made of wooden longerons and formers and are covered with fabric as are the wings and tail surfaces. The wings of the Citabria feature aluminum ribs and are strut braced. At the time of its introduction, the series was the only aircraft commercially produced in the US that was certified for aerobatics.
