This unusual aircraft left the factory in March of 1962 as a float plane and was ferried to Iberin, LA for float installation. In December of 1962, it was flown back to Iberin, LA for float removal and the landing gear was reinstalled along with wheel pants. Float planes have several differences from a regular Cessna including factory corrosion proofing and lifting eyes on top of the fuselage to name a couple. This aircraft was never a trainer, no hail dents, no corrosion, always hangared and no damage. It has spent most of its life in north Texas and Oklahoma. It has only 2,600 TTAF and only 5 hours SMOH. It cost $25 - $40,000 to overhaul one of these Continental 0-300 engines.

Continental 0-300-D. It was a very expensive and detailed overhaul.
In 1997, the aircraft was stripped and painted with base coat Alumigrip Matterhorn White, and trimmed in Jet Glow Sable Brown, Oakwood Brown, Sahara Tan and Moondust. The aircraft has been kept waxed, hangared, and the paint is still stunning. There is slight hangar rash under the left elevator near the fuselage - very minor. Flight controls were balanced. The interior was done at the same time and still shows very well. There is slight wear on the back of the pilot's seat. Airtex carpet was recently installed.
