An extraordinary opportunity to acquire one of the world's most significant surviving historic aircraft. This original 1917 Curtiss Jenny JN4-D is one of only six known original examples in existence and represents a cornerstone of early American aviation.
Powered by its original-style **Curtiss OX-5 engine**, this Jenny was **built in 1917 by Liberty Iron Works** and **commissioned in 1918 at Dallas Love Field**, one of America's most historic aviation landmarks. Today, following an extensive restoration with over 6,000 cumulative man hours in the process, the aircraft is now displayed at the climate controlled **Frontiers of Flight Museum**, located at the very airport where it originally entered service.
The aircraft has "0" hours flight time since complete overhaul and restoration.
We acquired the aircraft in **1989** and undertook a meticulous restoration that spanned approximately **18 years**, returning it to museum-quality condition while preserving its historic integrity. The aircraft holds an **FAA Airworthiness Certificate**, making it an exceptionally rare combination of historical significance and flight eligibility.
The Curtiss Jenny trained thousands of American military aviators during World War I and helped launch civil aviation in the United States. Surviving original aircraft are exceptionally scarce, with only a handful remaining. Other examples reside in premier collections, including the **Smithsonian Institution**, underscoring the significance of this aircraft.
