Remarks

Built from authentic Great Lakes plans in 1992 by veteran aircraft builder Ed Hammerle, NX306Y was featured in the weekly airshows at the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome in upstate NY for about 10 years. It was built as a 'sister-ship' to ORA founder Cole Palens 1929 factory-built 2T-1MS (NC304Y) and when Cole flew this ship, he said that it handled as well as his did. It shares this paint scheme (with reversed colors) and flew 'mirror-image' flights together. NX306Y is shown in many ORA YouTube videos.
