This is a classic barn find. It was originally an aircraft used for missionary aviation and then it was purchased by a private owner. The propeller was stolen at the airport, and so the owner decided to bring the plane into storage and rebuild the engine. He rebuilt the whole engine in 1979 and, that is where it sat for all those years. I bought it in a storage unit auction so I will be able to get a clear bill of sale for it as abandoned property. The owner had the wings in another storage yard and I had to pay as much for the wings as I had to pay for the entire airplane. The only things missing on the airplane is one strut and the propeller. All of the metal has been zinc chromated, and there is very little if any corrosion and almost no popped rivets. There is an FAA report and they say that the windshield will need to be replaced. I looked up the cost of a new windshield is only $260. I also found a seller in Arizona with struts for sale. I have a plane Tarped over in my yard in Stuart Florida. There was a pending sale when I first got the plane and the buyer was either Catfishing me or didn't have the money because the sale fell through. You're welcome to come to a full inspection of the plane. I turned over the motor and it has extremely high compression. I spoke with a mechanic that had worked on the airplane and he said the motor runs like a dream. I have all of the logbooks for the aircraft, and there are no parts missing aside from the prop and the one strut. I would like to get $15,000 for the plane I see similar ones in perfect condition selling for between 30 and 50,000. This plane is in really really nice condition for being stored all of these years. When I pull the wings out of the garage, the paint was still fresh on the wings because it had no exposure to the elements.
