The Lucky Strike (what I call my beautiful aircraft) has 936 SMOH and 3692 hours total. 1962 Mooney Ranger (C model) flies at 140 knots burning 8-9 gallons an hour. You wish your Johnson bar was this shiny. All kidding aside, this aircraft has the dependable manual gear and flaps. No fuel leaks, this Mooney sports fuel bladders to contain its 54 gallons of gas. No fuel leaks or fumes in this Mooney. This is a big deal. Mooneys have wet wings, and over time the sealant goes bad. Redoing the sealant is expensive, and there are only a couple places in the country that do it dependably. The bladders are a permanent fix, if they ever go bad they can be restored right on the aircraft.
The panel is old but highly functional, number one comm is a recently refurbished (Midcontinent Avionics) KX155 with VOR and glideslope. Number 2 Comm is an Icom IC-A220, the aircraft also has a KLN94 with two memory chips (those things are as rare as an honest politician) and the writer which plugs into a USB plug. I'll even throw in the old laptop I use for updates. It still has a DME as well, I am surprised how often that old thing comes in handy. ADSB in and out, an Appareo transponder graces the panel and there is also a portable Stratus unit that's wired into ship's power and shares the antenna for wifi weather and traffic. Has an STEC40 roll control autopilot that couples to GPS, VOR, or heading bug. Payload is 983 pounds. Interior is tan leather in very good shape, aircraft even has cupholders. Next annual is due in June 2023, IFR is current and the transponder was just certified. Clean inside and out, with lots of extras. The aircraft has been hangered for the last 20 years. I am only selling this wonderful aircraft because I no longer have enough money to take care of her.
