Also listed under the designation of North American Harvard or North American SNJ, the North American T-6 Texan is an advanced trainer, single engine aircraft used for training by the US Army Air Force, Royal Air Force, US Navy, and other British air forces. The T-6 was designated as the SNJ by the US Navy and the Harvard by the Royal Air Force.

The North American T-6 Texan features retractable tailwheel landing gear, a two-way radio, and provision for armament. Later models featured slight modifications and more powerful engines. The North American AT-6G is powered by a {Pratt & Whitney} R1340 AN-1 engine of 550 hp. The cruise speed at 75% is 126 knots. The empty weight is 4158 lb and the gross weight is 5300 lb.
