    Single Engine Piston North American Harvard IV

    Also listed under the designation of North American Harvard or North American SNJ, the North American T-6 Texan is an advanced trainer, single engine aircraft used for training by the US Army Air Force, Royal Air Force, US Navy, and other British air forces.

    The single engine piston North American T-6 Texan features retractable tailwheel landing gear, a two-way radio, and provision for armament. Later models featured slight modifications and more powerful engines. The North American Harvard IV is powered by a {Pratt & Whitney} R-1340-AN-1 Wasp engine. The cruise speed is 145 mph and the range is 730 miles. The empty weight is 4,158 lbs and the loaded weight is 5,617 lbs.
