Detailed Description
This1948 PA-15 underwent a "ground-up" restoration using the Poly Fiber system that was completed in 2017. The restoration focused on restoring the aircraft to its original configuration when it came out of the factory. The 65 Hp, Lycoming O145-B2 engine was restored by Hackenberg in Pennsylvania. TT Airframe hours are 1468. It has a June, 1, 2026 annual and the compression numbers were #1-73, #2-76, #3-77, and #4-76.
There are single controls on the left side (original out of the factory) but the bracketry is there to add a second set of controls. This was the model of aircraft that saved Piper from bankruptcy. It is the first of the short-wing Piper's. The aircraft has a new Sensenich propeller with about 8 hours on it. There is an externally mounted antennae and I used a hand-held radio to access up to Class D airspace. The aircraft qualifies as Light Sport.
