    Single Engine Piston Pitts S-2C

    A series of light aerobatic aircraft the Pitts Special has the capacity for two crew members. The empty weight is 1150 lb (521 kg) and the maximum takeoff weight is 1625 lb (737 kg). Variant models include the S-1, S-1C, S-1D, S-1E, S-1F, S-1S, S1-SS, S-1T, S-1-11B, S-2, S-2A, S-2B, S-2C, S-2E, S-2S, and S-2SE.

    The Pitts Special is powered by a Textron Lycoming AEIO-540-D4A5 flat-six air cooled piston engine. The cruise speed is 152 knots (175 mph, 282 km/h), the stall speed is 52 knots (60 mph, 97 km/h), and aircraft should never exceed a speed of 182 knots (210 mph, 338 km/h).
