With just three 'Razorbacks' still flying today, this serious WW-II combatant is even rarer than the F-6F Hellcat. This aircraft is a well known Pacific Theatre veteran. Force-landed largely undamaged into swampy ground in New Guinea in October 1943, rescued 1960s for static display. Restoration of this oldest intact P-47 is now well advanced. Fuselage structurally completed, controls, wiring etc are underway, the tail group and the engine mount has been fully rebuilt, along with the windshield and canopy. The wings are now being assembled.
