A rare STANDARD-CATEGORY SIAI-Marchetti SF.260C - not experimental - with Aspen glass, ADS-B, and a low-time overhauled engine. N751M, s/n 571, is the lowest-time example I know of on the market and was the finest airplane in our fleet.
WHY SHE'S AVAILABLE. Nothing is wrong with this airplane. She's been hangared at Chino since 2023 - a 36-month break in a dry hangar. She is a certified aircraft that is simply out of annual. To fly again she needs a return-to-service annual and transponder/pitot-static recertification, plus the usual after a sit: battery, oil and filter, nose strut service, seals and rubber. I'd want a borescope and oil analysis on any airplane coming out of storage and welcome both. A ferry permit to your own shop is available - we did exactly that with a sister ship and it's flying today.
HOW SHE WAS FLOWN - The SF.260, here is what matters. These were professional guest-experience aircraft, not unrestricted combat or competition aerobatic airplanes. Sorties were flown to a deliberately conservative profile, smoothly and typically to a max of 4.4G, by mature professional pilots - Owner flew all missions for the last ten years. No over-Gs or hard-landing inspections appear in the records. Maintained on a commercial operator's schedule with IA-signed inspections through August 2022, well maintained.
THE AIRPLANE: FAA standard airworthiness certificate, Normal/Utility/Aerobatic - rare among U.S. SF.260s. Aerobatic to +6/-3 G and a real IFR traveler at about 170 knots with 500+ nm legs. Stelio Frati's masterpiece: all-metal, flush-riveted, retractable gear, wingtip tanks, bubble canopy. She looks, sounds and flies like a mini-P-51 fighter.
PANEL & EQUIPMENT. Aspen EFD1000 Pro glass (electronic ADI/HSI), Garmin GNS 530W, Garmin GTX 330ES with ADS-B Out - installed December 2021 under STC SA01714WI - and a PS Engineering PMA7000H audio panel/intercom. Mission suite: cockpit gunsight and laser air-combat simulation system, HD cameras with switcher and recorder, smoke system. Wing hardpoints for aux fuel, camera pods and external stores (racks sold separately).
ENGINE & PROP. Lycoming 260 hp, fuel-injected. Majored by Corona Aircraft Engines (CRS O9VR726Y) 31 May 2016, W/O G059: crankshaft reconditioned to new limits, crankcase and rods certified, NEW CAMSHAFT AND LIFTERS, SIX FACTORY-NEW LYCOMING CYLINDERS. Approx. 430 hours since major; exact figure on request. Hartzell HC-C2YK-1BF propeller overhauled and installed February 2017, approx. 372 since.
PROVENANCE. Delivered by SIAI-Marchetti at Vergiate, Italy in February 1988 and then flown very little - when we acquired her in 2008 she had just 216.7 hours. Original Italian factory records forward.
DAMAGE HISTORY, DISCLOSED. 6/15/2010 the gear retracted inadvertently on takeoff; repaired and returned to service by an IA - prop strike inspection with engine removed and reinstalled, propeller repaired, both wings removed to replace the lower fuselage skins, then reinstalled and controls rigged. March 2019 a ground vehicle struck the right tip tank at Compton; tank replaced, aircraft inspected and returned to service. Records available.

Interior / Exterior
All original and looks like a vintage P-51 Mustang interior. Black vinyl side walls and seat cushions, Green 4-Point Hooker Harnesses, black plastic covers, and green/yellow zinc chromate floor boards.
