Lycoming O-360-C1G Engine Information

First run in 1955, the Lycoming O-360 Series is a family of four-cylinder, direct drive, horizontally opposed, air-cooled, piston aircraft engines. Different variants of the O-360 produce between 145 and 225 hp. The Lycoming O-360-C1G produces 180 hp at 2700 rpm. The compression ratio is 8.50:1. The C1G is the same as the C1A but the propeller governor drive is located on the left-front of the crankcase.

The O-360 family has 12 different prefixes including: O-360 (carbureted), HO-360 (horizontal mount for helicopter installation), LO-360 (identical to the O-360 but with the crankshaft rotating in the opposite direction), TO-360 (turbocharged), LTO-360 (turbocharged left-hand rotation), IO-360 (fuel injected), LIO-360 (identical to the IO-360 but with the crankshaft rotating in the opposite direction), AIO-360 (inverted mount, fuel injected), AEIO-360 (aerobatic, fuel injected), HIO-360 (horizontal mounted, fuel injected for helicopter), LHIO-360 (left hand rotation, fuel injected, horizontal mount for helicopter), and TIO-360 (turbocharged and fuel injected).
