The Socata TBM 700 is no longer produced since the introduction of the Socata TBM 850 model in 2006. The differences between the two models are: the TBM 700 comes in a cargo variant and uses a Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-64 engine while the TBM 850 uses the Pratt & Whitney PT6A-66d engine and has a typical range of 2,820 km (1,520 kts). Other variants include the TBM 700A, Socata TBM 700B, TBM 700C1, TBM 700C2, TBM 700N, and the TBM 850.

Starting with the 850 model, all TBM models will be equipped with the Garmin G1000 flight deck as standard equipment. The 850 also comes with more powerful engines giving it better cruising speed than the previous models.
